The family of a Perth base jumper who died after his parachute failed to open says he was doing something he loved.

Police said Mr Oliver had been with three friends at the 100m tower and had died of his injuries.

“His parachute failed to deploy and has tangled round his legs,” a police spokesman said.
The family of Mr Lucas said in a statement on Monday that he had lost his life in a tragic accident but was doing something he loved.
“He has performed many hundreds of skydives in Australia and overseas and more recently had pursued base jumping.
“He was passionate about his sport.
“We would like to thank those who have offered support and sympathy in this difficult time.”
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
